happy stomach, food
nyxie and I decided we wanted peanut butter cookies. First stop: the recipe on the side of the jar of Kraft peanut butter. Second stop: Any other recipe, because:

Super Easy Kraft Peanut Butter Cookies

1. MIX together 1 cup KRAFT Smooth Peanut Butter, 1/2 cup sugar, and an egg.
2. ROLL into balls and flatten with fork on ungreased cookie sheet.
3. BAKE at 325 F for 15 min. Do not over-bake. Makes about 24 cookies.
Shouldn't there be some... flour in there? Or anything other than peanut butter, sugar, and an egg? That's not so much "baking" as "cooking peanut butter". I'm tempted to make a quarter-batch of those just to see how disturbing they are.

here's the recipe I was using:

Title: Peanut Butter Cookie
Categories: Cookies
Yield: 15 servings

1/2 c Granulated sugar
1/2 c Packed brown sugar
1/2 c Peanut butter
1/4 c Shortening
1/4 c Butter or margarine;
1 Egg
1 1/4 c All-purpose flour
3/4 ts Baking soda
1/2 ts Baking powder
1/4 ts Salt

Mix sugars, peanut butter, shortening, margarine and egg in large bowl.
Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and refrigerate about 2 hours or until
firm. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Shape into 1-1/4" balls. Place 3" apart on
ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten in crisscross pattern with floured fork.
Bake 9-10 minutes or until light brown. Cool 2 minutes; remove from cookie

That's extremely close to the recipe I used to make cookies tonight. :) They are good.

Oh they're tasty! Nice and soft. I hate crunchy cookies. Did you know putting a piece of white bread into your cookie container keeps em soft too?

I'd hit it.

Excellent icon, by the way.

Mister X told me to comment

Better than real (or Kraft) peanutbutter cookies:

No Bake Fudge Cookies

2 c. sugar
½ c. milk
½ c. margarine/butter
4 T. cocoa
½ t. salt
Boil above in 2-3 quart sauce pan for one minute
Remove from heat

½ c. peanut butter
1 t. vanilla
3 c. oatmeal (instant)
½ c. nuts (optional)
Drop on was paper by teaspoonful and cool

Your icon? Mister Happy Reflux Man? I am goggle-eyed.

Also, I *must* try those cookies. Not because I expect them to be good, mind you.

give them a chance, i see recipes of flourless cookies and cakes all the time. the part i'm worried about is the kraft smooth peanut butter. :D

The Nixie Watch. Not quite nyxie, but the thought is there.

There's probably enough filler in Kraft peanut butter already that adding extra flour is unnecessary.

That's scary.
